Segregation of Duties
Compliance legislation has resulted in a very broad array of software solutions covering all areas ranging from SOX 404 (control framework documentation), Risk management, continuous monitoring to Segregations of Duties monitoring et cetera.
Most solution vendors like Axentis, Open Pages and many others for SOX 404, Aris for Operational Risk management, ACL for continuous monitoring and Approva, Eurekify and Virsa for SOD monitoring and SOD related components of SOX 404, are specifically developed to cover their one area. In 2004 Gartner group already ‘warned’ for the extensive software and maintenance cost resulting from the use of point solutions. All point solution vendors intend to move towards a more integrated approach.
Ba-PRO does not originate from a point solution and already offers a fully integrated (SOX 404, risk management, continuous monitoring and SOD) solution. Ba-PRO allows for a phased approach starting for instance with SOD with the ability to extend into complete SOX or upload existing risk or control information in a later phase, thus facilitating continuous compliance and reducing the cost.
